The name

邺，英文学术常作 Ye；需要「邺城」时写作 Yecheng。地在今河北临漳一带——邯郸／安阳的广义文明邻域，却不是安阳殷墟。中文说邺或邺城。把邺与临漳叠在一起：一是王朝都城用字；一是托住遗址田野的现代县域地理。勿把邺并入邯郸或安阳城市品牌——邻城共享记忆平原，而非同一句政区口号。Ye (邺), often written Yecheng (邺城) when English needs “Ye-city,” is a capital-name on the North China plain near today’s Linzhang (临漳) in Hebei—Handan/Anyang’s wider civilizational neighborhood without being Anyang’s Yinxu. English scholarship says Ye; Chinese memory says 邺 or 邺城. Hold Ye and Linzhang together: one is the dynastic capital-word; the other is the modern county geography that holds the ruin fields.
