Empty mountain, no one in sight—only echoes of speech. Returning light enters deep woods, shining again on green moss.
Chan-inflected landscape: presence as echo and light.
Wang Wei’s Wangchuan: an ordinary evening—cicadas, leftover sunset, smoke from the hamlet. On EastSage’s Zen path this follows Heart Sutra: Chan in daily life, not only on the cushion. The poem asks you to notice before you explain. Pair with Bamboo Grove and Autumn Mountain in the same series. Today: mindfulness is often a porch, not a retreat center.
Keep an empty-mountain minute—space for echo and light.
