Stopping Halfway
东汉乐羊子外出求学，途中返家，妻子以剪刀断织喻「学亦若此，中道而废」。乐羊子愧而续学。成语「半途而废」由此流传。
Eastern Han: Yue Yangzi returned mid-study; his wife cut woven cloth to show study is the same—stop halfway and all is lost. He went back ashamed. Source of “give up halfway.”
开始容易，收束难——别在半途把织好的线剪断。
Starting is easy, finishing is hard—do not cut the thread mid-weave.
After the moral, ask one question: if a similar choice showed up today, where does the story snag? Name that tension first—then take your own step. You need not copy the ancients, only borrow their clarity.
