Cangjie Invents Writing
Myth says Cangjie created Chinese characters after watching bird and beast tracks; heaven rained grain and ghosts wept at night—a parable of civilization’s double edge. Pair with Zhuangzi “forget words once meaning is grasped.”
Cangjie invents writing: script opens civilization—and asks us to stay awake to names. Naming orders, and also frames. Pair with Fuxi and the trigrams: one records, one observes patterns. Today: labels are handy; they also crop what is real.
After the moral, ask one question: if a similar choice showed up today, where does the story snag? Name that tension first—then take your own step. You need not copy the ancients, only borrow their clarity.
