Gonggong Smashes Mount Buzhou
In early myth, the water deity Gonggong loses a struggle for power and smashes Mount Buzhou in rage. The sky-pillar breaks; heaven tilts northwest and earth sinks southeast—so rivers run east. This catastrophe sets the stage for Nüwa’s later repair of the sky. Teach it as cosmology-story: imbalance, flood imagination, and the need for restoration after force.
Gonggong strikes Buzhou: rage and force tilt heaven and earth—myth casts catastrophe as will’s aftershock. Ask what anger fixed, and what it toppled. Today: if venting only shifts the axis and never repairs relation, the cost is social.
After the moral, ask one question: if a similar choice showed up today, where does the story snag? Name that tension first—then take your own step. You need not copy the ancients, only borrow their clarity.
